Since 2009, The Brooklyn Roasting Company has been on a mission: To offer NYC the finest quality coffees from sustainable sources, roasted to perfection and delivered with simplicity. BRC has grown to become New York’s premier local coffee roasting company, serving hundreds of upscale wholesale clients across the city and running several cafes for coffee enthusiasts.
Our production headquarters is located in Building 123 of the historic Brooklyn Navy Yard, a former industrial powerplant built in 1899. Our facility on the East River waterfront features high-tech commercial roast, pack, and quality control departments in a spacious setting with brick walls that are two feet thick and ceilings that are sixty feet high. We are proud that Building 123 was the first building in the Navy Yard to achieve LEED certification. Our ethical business practices include using sustainable packaging (tin steel cans and recyclable wholesale delivery totes), fuel efficient industrial roasting technology (Loring Peregrine and Kestrel roasters), and green coffee sourcing that is transparent and sustainable (90% of our coffees are Fair Trade certified).

Roasting & Quality Control Process
Coffee is the seed of a tropical evergreen shrub. Growers around the world harvest and process a wide range of coffee varietals grown under widely different conditions. The genetics of the plant and the "origin terroir” greatly contribute to the character of the coffee you wind up tasting in the cup. At the Brooklyn Roasting Company we search out the world’s finest coffees and expertly roast them to tease out their many colorful characters.
